The 2018 vintage was marked by abundant rain that brought welcome relief to the Provençal vegetation that was able to recover after a particularly dry summer in 2017. Combined with high temperatures during the growing season, this humidity resulted in unprecedented levels of mildew in the vines and consequently very low yields.
Fortunately the frequent use of essential oils and plant based tisanes, together with our biodynamic practices and a magnificent autumn, limited the damage and enabled us to bring in superb grapes.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape is characterized by the diversity of its soils, with a mosaic of plots where different varieties grow together on limestone rock, round pebbles on a clay substrate with varying amounts of iron, and fine sedimentary sand.

A classic beauty, the 2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape has textbook notes of red and lack currants, black cherries, scorched earth, and roasted garrigue to go with a medium-bodied, lively, elegant style […]. It’s a terrific, classic cuvée that I would be happy to have in the cellar.

Blueberry and bramble fruit, peppery spice on the palate and firm
tannins leaving a coarse texture on the finish. Deserves some time to soften in
bottle, and perhaps develop more complexity from that intense fruit core.

Hints of roast meat and espresso are backed by plummy notes on the nose
of the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape. It's a dense, concentrated and somewhat
sturdy wine, full-bodied and muscular yet svelte, with blackberry and
chocolate notes emerging on the long, silky-textured
